Local Governing Bodies

Our single Local Governing Body is responsible for both local academies and as such it plays an important role in supporting the Board of Trustees and providing the key elements of local governance for our academies.

The Governing Body is responsible for:

  • Ensuring the academies operate within the mission and ethos of the Academy Trust and contributes to the Academy Trust’s key strategic priorities.
  • Monitoring the quality of teaching and learning, attendance, behaviour and safety, within the academies and progress against the academy improvement plan.
  • Holding senior leaders to account for improvement of standards in the academies.
  • Engaging with wider academy activities as a means of monitoring overall quality.
  • Ensuring compliance with the policies for Safeguarding and that the Academies maintain a ‘culture of vigilance’ in respect of all safeguarding matters.
